Xubuntu would be perfect (it's blazing fast actually), with the exception of some hardware issues. I'm looking for a normal fairly lightweight distro but that actually works.

I have tried to install Lubuntu first, without success because I get an error (EFI Grub failed to install), which after hours of research I realized it is because it doesn't come with wireless drivers and it needs them finalize the instalation. My device is an iMac early 2008 without ethernet connection (meaning distro shouldn't come with wifi support) I know there are many similar posts, and I have read a lot of them along with articles like (best linux distros for mac's, etc) which are all over google.
